Fall 2007 update

Not much worth telling the world happened since last post. That doesn't mean that not much happened - mind you- its only that the stuff important to me isn't necessarily important to the rest of the (online-) world. Anyway, here's a quick update.

Progress on the study-front
I had successful interviews at two companies where I will work as diplomate. Due to me studying management and economics and getting double diploma in the end, I'll have to write two diploma theses. Most people groan when hearing "have to write two theses" but I see it as an opportunity to research my chosen topic in more detail and from different angles.

What the topic is? Geothermal Power, or to be more precise: economic and/or managerial aspects of Geothermal Power. Both theses will complement each other, so afterwards I hopefully am somewhat of an expert in a growing market, much sought-after and wooed by scores of companies... ;o)

But until that moment comes, I'll first have to do a lot of research, a lot of writing and re-writing and other lot-of's I can't think off right now. I usually enjoy writing, even if it's 'only' for university works and nothing creative, so I am not too scared about the prospect.

October, 3rd
National holiday, my father's birthday, and the first anniversary of Anja and my betrothal in Hampi, India. Fond memories of a that day, starting with exchanging rings on the water front, continuing with walking-tour through the ancient ruins, ending with dinner in the Mango Tree, the best restaurant on planet earth. See my flickr account for more pictures of Hampi (my pics, Natasha's pics, best of).

Got a used notebook
Writing a diploma thesis in collaboration with a company means I'll have to travel to Leipzig at least once a week for the first thesis, and moving to Hannover in March 2008 for four months for the second one. Which in turn means I'll need a notebook. I finally bought a used but upgraded (more memory, larger hdd) Gericom Hummer Advance and right now try to install all the stuff I have on my desktop. I think I'll need three days to complete all and everything, and today being day two with all major obstacles cleared, I am optimistic to have a nice, mobile computer by the weekend.

AIESEC in Chemnitz
More than the usual amount of work. Granted, I am by far not the most hard-working LC member, but count myself to the hard core of members. Early October always means freshmen, and we do several events to advertise being an AIESECer: speeches in the lecture rooms, information booths sticking bills all over the campus, two info-evenings, etc. Being a member of the External Relations team means I get to meet people like PR officer of the university who gave us advice in PR things and was immensely helpful.

And thats it mostly. More to come in soon as I (again) try to write more frequently. Provided there is something to tell.
